RENT is a Rock and Roll Broadway show. All it is about is a very different group of people. Living in New York, refusing to pay rent. and life with drugs and AIDS. This article is all about RENT and what it is about. I learned that it is not a rock Oprah, it is a Rock and Roll Broadway show. RENT has won many Tony Awards. The tragedy that occurred the night before there opening night when RENT was an off-Broadway show. The Director died from AIDS. But the show still went on in Honor of him.

The Book Without You by Anthony Rapp, is about Anthony. It is about his life and what is was like going through RENT and he talks about how RENT became a Broadway show and what it took for it to become what it is today.

This book fit into my research because it was written by Anthony himself and it is about him and his life through RENT. From this book I learned that when Anthony was young he was almost killed. He also was very close to family, they came first to him.

What attracted me to this topic is that i love RENT! And part of it hits close to me.

Anthony Rapp plays Mark in the Broadway show/Motion picture RENT. He has been in RENT from the begining. He started when RENT started, as an off Broadway show. His life views changed well going through RENT. He also was able to get to really know the amazing man that wrote RENT. RENT hit close to home with Anthony, in one way more then many.

This topic has an impact on American Culture in many ways, Life in lower class New York, drugs, adiction, and more.

I am hoping to learn more about what it was like to go through RENT and how it inpacted Anthony’s life.
